It is nice to see a coach interested in recruiting defensive lineman….
]]>Let Kelly have some time, he is a proven winner in COLLEGE FOOTBALL. FYI Kelly has true freshman playing over Wesis recruits on offence. (TJ Jones)
]]>1.) On the last play of the MSU game, I believe that the television displayed the wrong play clock. The stadium play clock, I believe, read three seconds. So, there would not have been a delay (another poster showed the pic).
2.) Kelly is not over his head but, like all coaches, he is learning from each game. He’s not learning what plays to pursue so much as he is learning his team’s speed as compared to his opponent’s team’s speed. This is what we want from a coach.
3.) We did not get into the mess we’re in overnight. Weis was an excellent recruiter for “skill positions.” He was not as strong at finding the “unskilled” position players (as if there’s such a thing in football) who play along the both the offensive and defensive lines. Consequently, we have a decent quarterback and good receivers but we have substandard offensive line. This is especially true on the defensive side of the ball. If you can run outside against Notre Dame, you can score points. This will have to change.
Patience.
]]>That is not correct. Each team is allowed one challenge per game. If the challenge is rejected, the team loses a time out. If upheld, it does not. I do not know if a team is unable to challenge in overtime.
]]>“Once per game, each head coach may also call a timeout and challenge the ruling on the previous play before the next play starts. A coach must have at least one timeout remaining in order to challenge (teams receive three timeouts per half). If the challenge is successful and the on-field ruling is overturned, the team keeps its timeout and is allowed only one more challenge. If unsuccessful, the team loses its timeout and is allowed no more challenges.”
