Thanks….don’t follow BB recruiting as much as the FB side. I would love to see ND get a super duper guy like Digger was able to do a few times in his day.

Who else can do that…….not even most pro teams have the IQ and maturiry this years Irish squad does.

They are beating teams that are athletically superior with moxy, poise, and basketball skill. It really is a thing to savor.

This team plays good ‘playoff’ type basketball and if healthy has a chance to win the BE or NCAA this year. Most importantly they believe they can. The schedule does setup nice now with a well deserved break then we ease back in with two winable games before another showdown at home with Louisville. I don’t forsee a letdown and I thought 11 or 12 BE wins was possible this year and it looks better than ever.

Also, I hope the last two years has shut up the Brey haters for a while. Brey is a tremendous coach, a very active member with both the students and the community. He is a big clog in the conference and the NCAA rules. He is greatly respected by a lot of people in basketball. On top of all that he is a nice guy. I have run into him around town several times in the last 10 years and he has talked with me like I was an alum. Anyone who can’t see that ND is never going to be a power in basketball is blind. They can’t get the studs and even when they do have one they have one…….top teams will have several studs on the floor that are draft picks. Plus the studs don’t fit NDs mold. All the top kids play 1, maybe 2 years and then move on. ND wants 4 year players and graduates its players.

So Brey does really well with what he has and even he is morphing promoting more defense and this new ball control ‘burn’ offense the last two years. He recruits good kids and somehow we have become a haven for quality transfers. I would say we have been at the top of the second teer of BE teams and that is saying something. Plus look at the home experience….something like 36-5 the last 4 years. Not a lo to be dissapointed about when you go to a home game because it is a good time, seating is great and they are going to win……..

Thanks Mike Brey you are a class act and I hope you stay another 10 years and then happily retire…..also you more than deserve a gig at one of the powers so if you leave for Duke I would be sad but you would deserve it. Thanks for being so loyal as no one even mentions you for jobs every year and that is not because you are not deserving but obviously because you have made it clear to people that ND is where you want to be.
