I was going to pick Navy until I researched them and determined that were not as good as they have been in recent years. Unfortunately, neither is Notre Dame. When those negative forces meet, it becomes a question of who wants it more. Guess we know the answer to that one now.

I was surprised at your prediction that the Irish would win this game. I am running out of dopey observations…

1. When run properly, a triple option attack is nearly indefensible. Notre Dame demonstrated this today. Without being able to set the edge, you get trampled. Today was a stampede.
2. Offensive line could not generate a push on men 35 lbs. lighter on average. Very sad.
3. The lack of discipline is horrendous. Special teams once again demonstrated their ineptitude.
4. Navy rarely passes. But when they do we can’t cover anyone without interfering?? Ugh…
5. We appear to be back to the Charlie Weis way of doing business.

There was no way that Navy’s defense could have stopped ND if we just took what they were giving us…instead we ran some higher risk down field passes that were badly thrown and we were forced or chose to kick field goals…..this is in addition to more back breaking mistakes on special teams…plus we can’t stop anybody on 3rd or 4th and long……

As such, we got what we deserved…another heart breaking loss..Very, very Sad!!

Truthfully and not taking away anything from Navy…for Notre Dame the winingest program in college football history…by far the most prestigious and glorious… to lose to them is a loud and clear statement of how far down this program is going and gone.
