Comments on: Irish Seek Quality Effort vs. Vanderbilt https://dev.ndnation.com/irish-seek-quality-effort-vs-vanderbilt/ The Independent Voice of Notre Dame Athletics Thu, 04 Oct 2018 14:27:50 +0000 hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9.4 By: GOND88 https://dev.ndnation.com/irish-seek-quality-effort-vs-vanderbilt/#comment-22952 Sat, 15 Sep 2018 11:44:19 +0000 https://dev.ndnation.com/?p=16916#comment-22952 Wimbush is not Tom Brady or Andrew Luck and Kelly needs to stop trying to make him those guys.

27-17 is rather sporty and it might be more like 21-17 with the game in doubt until the last couple of minutes in the fourth quarter. Then at the press conference Kelly will say that he and the coaches need to coach better and that the team is a work in progress. Just like he has said the last several years.

I’m guessing Wimbush could get sacked 4-5 times this game. ND could be on pace to allow the most sacks in the nation under Kelly’s GVS buddy Jeff Quinn.

“I know nothing!” Certainly sums up Kelly’s approach to press conferences and head coach responsibilities. Guess next week’s photos for the prediction wrap up are covered….

It was a great show – on par with Hogan’s Heroes.

Where the Hekawi?

I saw the picture and I figured it was our fans jumping out of another offensive collapse. I fear this preview may be prove to be about as overly optimistic (with cause) as the last one. Hopefully I’m wrong and the Irish pull out a victory against a mighty SEC foe.

Do you think Georgia is? I don’t think any truly elite team would. Stay tuned……

I thought it was a perfectly respectful train wreck. No blood, gore, or bodies. If I really wanted to go over the top, I could have added a picture of a plane crash or the Hindenburg to illustrate the failures of Kelly’s aerial game.

The defense seems good enough to compete for anything this year; the offense will be exactly as good or bad as the line is. We caught Michigan flat-footed in the first half, but their ends were constantly getting around the edge the whole second half. We all saw what happened against Ball State. If that was just the result of a hangover, we’ll see much better results in both pass protection and running lanes this week. If the line is the same as it was last week, well…there’s always next year.

I hope we can get a running game going that does not involve Wimbush. That poor guy is not going to survive if he continues to be our leading rusher!

Kelly needs to stop telling us he needs to do a better job or preparing his team

WE ARE NOT A PLAYOFF TEAM.. NO WAY..

We squeak by Vandy on a last minute FG…….

ND continues its Kelly era tradition of playing down to inferior teams, and this time they don’t get away with it.

21-17 Vandy.
