Perkins gets contained, he throws two interceptions, and we don’t give up a touchdown on defense. Virginia scores once on special teams and makes a smattering of field goals.

The real battle is when Notre Dame has the rock. Ian throws 2 TDs and might scramble for a third, but also throws an interception. Third-down conversions will be difficult. I also think Ian’s at serious risk of injury in this game, more than in other games, given this season’s game tapes and VA’s defensive tendency (are they channeling John Tenuda?); I wouldn’t be surprised if Ian gets replaced at some point, and not because we want Jurkovec to get some reps.
