This doesn’t guarantee a win, but if ND executes it should make for an interesting game and possible win unless they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory which they sometimes do. The defense will get gashed and gouged, so I predict a high scoring game of around 38-35, but it’s anyone’s guess who will have 38 points.

This game will be a referendum on Kelly’s coaching ability since Meyer is an elite coach with an 8-2 bowl record.

I agree with your sentiment. However, ND 38 OSU 17 would be a better score for me. Then, they can say they are truly back IMHO.

Though, the last ditch strip-n-fumble with ND recovering would also be very exciting. I think I’d like it either way.

Sure, ok… I mean, they were the defending National Champions, but whatever floats your boat.

To say that Kizer doesn’t understand the read-option is ludicrous. Did you watch how he used this during the Temple game to score from 79 yards out? How about the 50+ yard scamper during the Stanford game?

Now, I do agree that BVG’s defense has trouble defending it. But, to say that Kizer hasn’t been taught is just plain wrong.

This has the potential to be the biggest win in 20-some years, but would not prove they were a Championship caliber team because MSU beat OSU with a 2-turnover deficit. OSU’s a good team on par with Stanford, but not great. MSU is an example of a good team, with a lot of heart, toughness, and competitive spirit to pull off wins against superior talent; the opposite of ND! Go Spartans, beat BAMA! I used to hate MSU, but I love their coach and style of play.

Not only afraid of Zorich, but what Zorich would do to them if they under-performed. Lou knew how to motivate players to the point where they would run through a brick wall for him. It doesn’t seem that Kelly is a motivator like Lou. Even if BK read these posts, I don’t think he would take any of the comments to heart.

Not sure about mucho dinero in the NFL, but I agree that he is pretty darn good. When I said this guy’s assessment lost all credibility, I actually meant it… I stopped reading from that point. Anyone who thinks that ND needs a better punter is a total fool.

Lose it and – not yet. Almost but not quite.

I’d like to see them win by a TD or two, but will settle for a win, preferably with a last minute takeaway or stop by the D – a fumble recovery by Joe Schmidt would be nice – 22 seconds to go OSU on our 31 yard line, Elliott up the middle, Smith starts the strip Schmidt completes it.

ND 22 – OSU 17.

Kelly has to hold back tears after the game and has to leave the podium, players block the cameras and keeps the “how do you feel?” genii from him as they get him to the locker room.

Nice

BTW – ‘Genii’ is the plural of genius.

Our punter is exceptional. He will be making mucho dinero in the NFL.

Agreed, the fact that this program has depth and doesn’t get embarassed anymore by losses to Syracuse and Uconn on senior days is HUUUUUGGGGGEEEEE. Well done Kelly. Beating OSU would be the biggest victory since 93 over FSU. Kelly and staff should be compensated to stay because the system built by them has made ND Football relevant again, and not just this year, but into the foreseeable future. Just remember it wasn’t that long ago that ND was fielding a MAC athletic quality and subpar MAC coaching.
