They need better communication between passer and receiver or at least a safety valve receiver. Offensive line looks very slow setting up a run. They were exposed by Georgia defense. Win out most of the schedule this team will have earned their legacy.

I am most surprised at the lack of contributions from the wide outs. Guess I got used to the Fullers etc. also, agree that Smythe and Risher could be a bigger element in the offense. St. Brown living on last season’s contributions. He doesn’t seem to fight for balls, catch balls with his hands consistently, nor run precise patterns. As a group wide outs haven’t helped Wimbush very much.

The defense gets a B plus because we are really tackling instead of thinking about tackling. Also notice the yards after contact are way down.

If I see one more, slower than molasses, read (supposedly) option to Josh or whomever for no gain I’m going to stick a pen in my temple. Where the hell are the play option, short over the middle passes to our tight ends. Where are the quick slants to EQ. Good God, we have an amazing play maker in St. Brown and he never has the ball in his hands. Why not use Dexter for runs on the edge? And yes, giving the rock to Josh for a bust north and south can and will on occasion result in him breaking a tackle and then splitting the safeties for a long gainer. But, do not run him outside. He’s not an edge back. Brandon? I truly believe he’ll get better throwing, but only if play calling improves. He still looks like a deer peering into headlights when he should be checking down. Book? I was there at UNC and we were lucky Carolina is so banged up. It was one of the most painful games to watch we’ve ever been to….bloody awful. If we don’t get a better pass rush, USC is going to eat up our secondary. I don’t care what BK says, the UNC QB, in reality and for most of the game, had tons of time. We will be at USC, so stay tuned.

Way too many punts in the end zone. kick off coverage is terrible. If punt returns were considered part of the offense it would have to rate as an F-. we have to be among the worst in the country in punt returns .
I think Wimbush id doing a good job for his level of experience and he will only improve. Since we don’t have to depend on the passing game all the time we don’t need him to be perfect. His legs are a huge asset as long as we don’t run him too much

I would probably give the receivers a D though as I have seen very little from this group led by a terrible 1st half for St Brown. Coaching should get a B-. Have to win those toss up games but Kelly will get a bunch in the second half to improve that grade. How many wins does everyone think he needs to keep his job?

Receiving and pass timing is a problem that must be solved to be elete.

He is a cool, competent game manager. His passing will improve as he, and his receivers, gain game experience. Next up: Southern Cal

GO IRISH!! BEAT trojans
